The way of love

"...[LOVE] NEVER LOOKS BACK, BUT KEEPS GOING TO THE END" 1 CORINTHIANS 13:7 (TM)

One night in bed a wife says to her husband of 50 years, 'When we were young you used to hold my hand.' Slowly, a little irritated, his hand reaches out. 'And when we were young you used to snuggle up against me.' A little more slowly his body creaks and turns; nestling against hers. 'And when we were young you used to nibble on my ear.' Abruptly the covers are thrown back and he lurches out of bed. 'Where are you going?' she asks, a little hurt. 'To get my teeth,' he grumbles. When you're young, free and single it's hard to imagine all the changes a life-long relationship will bring. For lots of young people finding the perfect partner becomes an endless quest, filled with heartache. Well, here's a tip, instead of working on finding the perfect someone for you, why not work on becoming the perfect you for someone! All the instructions are in God's word.Listen to this, it's not just for weddings, it's for the whole of your life: 'Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, it doesn't have a swelled head, doesn't force itself on others, isn't always 'me first', doesn't fly off the handle, doesn't keep score of the sins of others, doesn't revel when others grovel, takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, puts up with anything, trusts God always, always looks for the best, never looks back, but keeps going to the end'. (1 Cor.13.4-7 TM)

This is from the word for you today an felt it was applicable, well to me anyway xx

Comments: Isn't it amazing how the Holy Spirit always guides our thinking at just the right time and in a way that is applicable to our needs at the time - its quite scary sometimes!
