Inspirational Business Studies!
Marketing Departments
Some companies do not feel the need for a marketing department, they consider it to be part of everyone's job and especially in smaller companies marketing activities are carried out along side other tasks. It is therefore more about the way people think and plan, rather than a departmental title.
Now it is not very often that I am passionate about business studies but I think there's something in this for us! As soon as the teacher started dictating this, it screamed out to me, evangelism!! Its so about evangelism! Let me expand on that before you think I've gone mad (if you don't already!)
In churches there are some people who can evangelise with more ease than others, and there are some jobs which they are best suited to (hence the marketing department) but I want to home in on the fact that its everyone's job! The smaller the church, the less people who are going to be able to evangelise, so its even more important, but it doesn't matter really, even if your church has thousands, its still your job to proclaim the gospel, Jesus sent ALL of us out to tell the world about Him. 'marketing activities are carried out along side other tasks' this sums up the way we should evangelise exactly! Its not about literally going out and telling the world (though there are times when that is the way to go about it) but for our every day lives, its all about reflecting God, and when people see God in you they're bound to ask questions! If you are really living out your life filled with the spirit then its impossible to miss, people are gonna see it in you! We all must have countless opporunities to tell someone about Jesus, and so often we let it pass, step out and just go for it, what have we got to lose??
All this makes me think of the Away-Day we had at our corps a while back. The focus was spiritual gifts, and when we looked in depth at each of our gifts, it was quite amazing to see how many of those different gifts were present in our church. We each have our own individual God given gift(s), but the fruit of the spirit is something we all have, and with that fruit how can we fail to scream out Jesus?
Awww the cats come to see what I'm doing lol. yeah so be inspiring, live out the marketing in you!!
love ya's all xxx
